anarchistnews.org: Anarchoblogs rebooted

From Rad Geek - by Rad Geek

For the past few years, Rad Geek People’s Daily was syndicated (along with a few score other anarchist blogs) on a Planet-based aggregator called Anarchoblogs at http://anarchoblogs.protest.net/. Rabble, of Anarchogeek, created it To encourage blogging, raise awareness, and and promote cross linking among anarchist bloggers. Unfortunately, late last year, Anarchoblogs disappeared from the web (as a result of technical difficulties not worth going into here). Today, I am happy to kick off this new year by announcing the return of Anarchoblogs, which is back at a new domain name (http://anarchoblogs.org/) with a new engine under the hood and some important new features. From Anarchoblogs.org: About:

anarchistnews.org: Was the riot cop shooting orchestrated by the state?

From Occupied London Blog

Rough translation of a posting on Athens indymedia, the day after a riot cop was shot in Eksarhia, Athens. The text below is important as it seems to reflect a sentiment shared with the majority of the people in the anarchist, and the wider antagonist social movement in the country: The greek state seems to be pulling out some of its oldest and dirtiest tricks in order to go, once again, on the offensive. Luckily, our movement does have one of the most valuable assets - collective memory. In the US they called it COINTELPRO, in Italy it was the strategy of tension, over here it is lonely gunmen shooting from (but really: shooting at) the very spaces we are trying to defend. We don’t forget, we don’t forgive, we won’t be intimidated…

anarchistnews.org: Hack This Zine #6 Now Available!

Issue #6 of Hack this zine is out and available for download. There has been a lot of discussion on the HTZ, and HB staff mailing lists about the release of this issue. The main topics have been the staleness of this issue and the use of InDesign vs. open source alternatives like Scribus and LaTeX.

anarchistnews.org: Kansas City: New Year's Eve bash hosted at US Bank

This New Year’s Eve we took it upon ourselves to get especially festive. Finding that the beer and liquor, fraternizing, and flirting just didn’t suffice, we gallivanted by the US Bank at 103rd and Holmes. We were pleased to spot several large rocks amidst the stunning corporate landscaping. We also located a sturdy metal wastebasket. Soon we were partying like never before, dancing under floodlights behind masks before surveillance cameras to an improvised symphony of shattering plate glass. At least 20 large windows bit the dust before all was said and done. All present will attest: that damn bank never looked so good.
