Hellarity burns

Micah Hall, a good friend to many of us, died on Halloween night. We still don't know what happened as of this writing. It's so hard to make sense of it all especially when it hits you so suddenly. Micah has worked at Little Seven making jewelry with many of us. He also roadied with the Extra Action Marching Band for many years.

Friends started calling hospitals when Micah was not heard from all day on Thursday. The doctor at the hospital where Micah was located said that he could only reveal the cause of death to a family member.

People will be gathering at La Boheme on 24th and Mission in SF at 7pm to join the Dia de los Muertos parade tonight.

These guys who were hired to put up LED signs for the viral marketing of the cartoon Aqua Teen Hunger Force were arrested in Boston after the cops, city officials, and the media somehow labeled it as a terrorist bomb hoax. Check out the hilarious press conference:

Came across a Guardian article from last year about bay area warehouse show spaces. It mentions 5lowershop by name and the "Spazz collective" in reference to otherworld.

DJ Artyom in Russia has built his own DJ audio hardware out of wood and electronics, complete with dual cassette tape decks and mixer. The cassettes feature pitch control (fine and coarse), pitch bend, a motor off switch...etc. He hooks these boxes up to his computer using custom DJ patches built in Max/MSP.

so instead of what i was supposed to be doing, i spent all day getting the audio section of spaz.org back up and running. you can now upload and download audio files (automatically reads artist, song info...etc. and even album cover art of mp3 id3 tags). oh, and you can even make playlists. check out the new flash-based audio player to play those playlists.
