I've talked to Aaron couple people from the Bay about initiating a more in depth collaberative SPAZ/Taring Padi project...perhaps a series of smaller collaberations like exhibitions, zines, simulcast new years events from Slab City/Yogyakarta?? etc and building up to a summer tour in the states. This would mean getting some of the indonesian crew to the states... involving strong planning with funding... so I've been talking to people who have worked on similar projects about possible avenues for grants and sponsorship from more formal art institutions. I got a bunch of information from Arie in yogya- he went to SF, Philly, and NYC with a group of indonesian mural artists a few years ago and got grant money to pay for expenses. Some of the Taring Padi kids are really excited about trying to make this happen since there hasn't been a big link with art communities in the states yet. Also some Taring Padi crew are living in the states right now, one guy in SF I think. Anyways I'll be in the Bay towards the end of September and hopefully we can chat about stuff.
