Warning to Mutants
"K" aka Kid 486 is a complete scammer. He scammed me out of over $400 in rent, he scammed a freto lay Truck from a trusting seller, and he's scammed many of his own friends. He is calling himself autonomous and connecting himself with SPAZ. I offered to settle rent up in work trade, or as a payment plan and he said and I quote "retribution has been served". After I let him couch surf and was over-understanding about bills and rent. He is not to be trusted!

I know damn well K is no scammer. I have seen him invest so many hours of his own time toward other peoples well being. within the non-organization that is SPAZ, Nightmare, etc., I know most of the people who have known K for years will say the same as me about him. peace.
I don't think I'm stupid. I just think I'm to kindhearted and I guess I have the expectation that if I give someone a chance they will make good on there promises.

I didn't rase the rent on you. I gave you ample warning that i intended to fix up that space long before I even let you sleep on my couch. As far as a "two bit landlord" I was a friend to you. Anyone else would have kicked you out the first time you where late on rent. In the three months you lived with me you where NEVER on time. You don't even think that I have our bills to pay. You are a selfish person and if you "still love" me as you say you do you would drop your ego and make good on your agreements. But that takes a man and I guess we've established you are a reptile.

No doubt about owing some, and such is, but i do stride to make good when and where i can. Yup, when I've given rotten eggs, then bitten into them later, served my own dumb lessons in life, and life goes on, and it is not all dollar value, per the hour. Case to case, was not all bad.. but seems, the shit smells stronger then the flowers. Some know me for what I owe them, and then others the help and generosity i could give them. Taken in stride, what ever remains, I will live with my reputation.
How many Mutante aren't players and scammers to one degree or another? We almost have to be to keep heads above water in this country. What seems to be the issue is akin to the idea of 'honor among thieves'. While many of us avoid taxes, dumpster food and fuel( technically illegal), and participate in 'illegal' parties, we feel that there is a law not to scam your fellow mutante. Although a lofty and attractive concept, it is simply not the case. I have heard a few times over the years from solid community members who were left holding the bag after K left town without paying his promised dues and any moron can read that he's a eloquent player from 100 yrds. but he's also done a bit to aquire and share with the community. I also know how hard it is to maintain 'safe' spaces for traveling mutants when people who don't believe in rent or money or work don't mind staying in the spot you work for money to pay rent for, but when land ownership is theft, then rent is the biggest scam of all.
I'm often to literal and I believe everything I read (especially on the internet and on the bathroom wall).But isn't the "A" in SPAZ for autonomous or is it just the coolest word that started with an A? I believe true group Autonomy can exist with certain conditions. One condition is that everyone is accountable for there own actions and two no-one imposes themselves on anyone else to the point where it infringes on there path or happiness. And if you're going to only be Autonomous when it's convenient that's pretty fake (or maybe that's where the Semi Permanent comes in). As for justifying steeling from someone that has more than you that's bullshit; is it ok to go poke someone in one of their eyes if you only have one? No. It's an unfair world. You got to do with what you have. YOU are responsible for your self. It's not about money or rent or possessions; it's about energy exchange. Being sketchy is the disease not making good on promised dues is the symptom. I hope in this world that if you are to be defined it is not by what you have it is by your actions.
I can't comment on who owes who what, or what energy was exchanged between what people because I wasn't there. I do admit that good energy exchange and not being deceitful are two things I consider very important. And I do admit that I have heard some sketchy opinions about K from people, but I specifically want to point out that almost everyone has a sketchy opinion about the dealings of a lot of people in this community and in the world in general.
If we were to list everyone who has left community spaces with rent due or work share lacking, or people who have slide into a pseudo dictator persona in certain projects, or some how undermined the good nature of group work, or (fill in the blank) a huge section of our community would be blacklisted. I have heard this same or similar sentiment being spread about several otherwise productive people. Each person needs to know where they stand with each other and who to avoid business or responsibility dealings soiling relationships. What matters is the flowers. How much work, or good energy, or creative contribution, or good friendedness, or general awesome mutant power have those people contributed in large or small scale to individual people or the greater community over the years... I personally have a small list of people who I feel have fucked me over in some way and would avoid working with again or having any level of responsibility entangled with them, but I usually take these conversations up on a personal level with those who matter. And usually in the end I still care about those people and wish them the best
I'm not a fan of internet smear. I'm sure many people who don't even know K will read this post and not only develop possible negative opinions about him, but perhaps an opinion of a weak spot in our community because of this public banter. I guess this is the gossip section of the message boards but it shows up on the front page of the public internet front of SPAZ viewable by all spectators.
I want to say no matter what shit talk I have heard about K I still love him. Perhaps because he has never fucked me over and has always remained and kind hearted, amiable, caring, fun, creative, inspiring and amazing friend. He usually keeps himself more self autonomous then group autonomous most of the time, but thats his character. It doesnt mean he doesnt value community and his goal is to fuck people over. I have seen him put in a lot of work towards creating good energy and atmosphere and positive relationships. This issue of money seems to be a personal dispute between the two of you.
Shit if you really want a smear campaign take it to judge judy, at least that would be entertaining. This is just sad. Rio - I understand where you are coming from - especially with the sentiment that internet smear campaigns are just gross. However, as someone who has been ripped off by K, and has gone on to see K rip off many more in the community, I think its time to say "enough". The fact that this topic was created shows that this individual has found their role as a parasite in the greater spaz affiliated environment. A parasite that drains energy (ie money) away from its host. It is attitudes like yours that allow this to continue ad nauseum! He is your friend, hasnt ever ripped YOU off (yet), has done so much good, etc. You are engaging in some serious relativism in your post as well - "most people would consider anybody sketchy, etc..." I agree Rio, personal internet smears are very dubious at best. It may be a likely scenario that those whom DON'T know me, or likewise this community, could very well be shunned away by the effects of reading these posts. Reguardless of the outcome of personal buisiness.. and if this forum should remain? I suppose it's a great window into an uncommon mode of suedo-comunity and conflict resolution. As a side, I do wish those prospective newcomers use their intellect, and power to self conduct in order to counter any possiblitiy of being swayed away.

Personally I feel, the fact that this topic was created shows more than anything else, that certain individuals are unfit to deal with their personal business in a personal and adult manner and would rather resort to a public internet smear campaign as opposed to dealing with manners face to face. This to me seems an unfortunant situation. I feel it less effective at gaining a resolution, doing only more harm to the community image then good, and is a method of conduct, full of karmic cowardis.
Now, not to say that those whom anonymously create forums against my character are the only ones cappable of cowardly acts, just that they are more cappable of doing so on the public internet, where their annonimity is somewhat more secure ;) (oh, flame on...)
Yes, I have commited my own acts of cowardis, some of witch landed me a reputation and this role as the spaz rip-off scammer. k-hole has maid claims that I have preyed on a community that "don't really use violence" to deal with things of this manner.

As an example, and in my defence, I relate this story.
Several years past when I was temporarily living amongst a community house, founded as a Spaz collective, I encountered just the opposite of non-violence. As It was, I was late on my rent payments (oops!), my trouble paying the bill was met with a barrage of, rash, sometimes drunken, Alpha male type violence and outbursts from certain core members of the community. So much so that I was eventually stressed beyond my capacity, and resolved to leave. I left town, leaving behind my bicycle, cd's and clothing, as well as my $180 outstanding rent bill.
I do my best to own my dirty laundery, and sometimes I even wash it! If I had stuck it out, eventually those violent and agressive towards me may have eaten their own shit, and I would have made the minor rent payment.. But life goes on, and like I said before, it's not all dollar value!

For all that are still reading: I asked K in PERSON and via the www for closure and to work this out and I got either no response or K's famous quote "retribution has been served". I agree this is not the best venue for this conversation but maybe it is because I've found that I am not alone. Good or bad, all but one poster has admitted to K being sketchy (even K). I agree on many of K's strong points; Musically talented, helpful at times, etc, but as for dealing with "personal business"...

ICTF is right. I watched the whole thing go down, and I am definitely not the only one who witnessed this "drama.". I've watched k fuck people over for years. Time and time again he burns bridges. No one i know trusts him, and everyone I know knows him. Too bad - cause he's got charisma, and a good personality. He's an unapologetic user, scammer, liar, and thief. ICTF is definitely not stupid. He cared about K, tried to help him out, and cut him slack for months. Not because he is stupid, but because he is a man of great character and compassion. There will always be stresses between tenants and landlords. But what K did was inexcusable. This situation is a result of his selfishness and laziness. He owed ICTF 400$. Plain and simple. And he refused to pay. He was not bound by any contract to stay - he could've left at any time. He took advantage of the situation and accrued his debt to ICTF cause he had no where else to go and no resources to fall back on. ICTF did him a favor and gave him the benefit of the doubt, and k returned the favor by being a total dick.
