What is ROOTS HARDCORE MASSIVE?
ROOTS HARDCORE is a newly forming crew and networked organization. Its Massives celebrate urban soundsystem culture, underground sound, and cultural resistance.

Through its productions, ROOTS HARDCORE seeks to connect past, present, and future soundsystem culture by representing the roots of it all- roots music and offspring (reggae, dub, dancehall)- side-by-side with more recent lineage: electronica, hip-hop, and tekno. Forward-looking, RHM also aims to support the development and distribution of future urban sound. Its events seek to highlight new performers and sound that is pushing the bounds of underground electronic music. In honoring the underground and resistance to globalized corporate culture, ROOTS HARDCORE events also offer participants access to corporate-free audio recordings as well as alternative literature, art, and locally hand-made fashion or crafts.

Directions:
By Bike: Adaline, Mandela Parkway are good for north/south access. 27th, Grand Ave are good for East/West access.

By Public Transit:
#19 bus (from West Oakland or North Berkeley BART) goes down Peralta. Get off at Peralta & 26th
#14 bus (from Macarthur BART,) goes down Adeline. Get off at Adeline & 26th, walk 2 blocks west (away from Downtown Oakland) to Union.

By Car From San Francisco: Stay in the far right lane when exiting the Bay Bridge. Take West Grand exit. Go straight for 6 lights & turn left on Union St (no light). 26th is 2 blocks down.

By Car From Berkeley: 80 West...Center lane to 880. 1st exit is West Grand. Turn left and left again on Union, which is the street after the 4th light. Go 2 blocks to corner of 26th. If the highways are clogged, head south on Adeline & turn right on 26th. Go 2 blocks to union.
