Our collective house in south Berkeley has two rooms available (both starting March 1st but one could start right away). Rent is $510 (not including utilities) for each room and there is an additional move-in cost of $1020 (deposit and last month's rent) for a total move-in cost of $1530. The house is on a Bicycle Blvd and 3 blocks from Ashby BART, with 2 bathrooms, wireless DSL, solar panels on roof, bicycle rack, and laundry on-site. We are also a non-profit organization through which we collectively own (non-equity) our house and the house next door (they have a hot tub!). Both of our bathrooms have grey water sinks (falls in a bucket). When we sometimes work on the house, it can be like living in a construction zone. There are 12 of us (not including the 2 available rooms) including 2 six year old kids and 1 lovable pit bull. We are very into DIY and have a "chore wheel". Some of us are vegans and some are omnivores, and we love to eat out of dumpsters and cook meals together as much as we can. Many of us come from punk and anarchist backgrounds and there's usually lots music being played (accordion, violin, cello, guitar, xylophone, piano, saw, soundsystem...etc.). We have a nice small backyard with two fire pits. We don't have TVs in our common space but we have a projection screen and sometimes get together to watch movies. We like to have occasional house parties and monthly potluck brunches. There's no cigarette smoking inside the house and you must not be allergic to dreadlocks. We love animals but your pet has to be interviewed too. We want people who are into sticking around and not looking for temporary housing. We would prefer females/queers for better gender balance.

Please respond to this possibly touching on some of the following subjects: who you are, what you do, what are important projects and goals in your life and in what ways would you be an imperfect complement to our house.
