I only intended on staying in New Orleans for a few weeks, but that city has a unique realness, a feeling of connection and freedom. I watched people get sucked in. I arrived in New Orleans for the first time 4 months ago, here are my impressions as a newcomer.

New Orleans Update

After two and a half weeks in the New Orleans area, the Counter Current
Coalition is still busy, productive and trying to keep up with the constantly
evolving atmosphere. The seemingly endless destruction and desolation of the
city remains while our localized efforts show more noticeable results and
changes occuring....

Bay Area grass-roots community organizers have joined forces to deliver aid and assistance to ongoing community-based relief efforts o­n the Gulf Coast. A caravan of veggie-fueled vehicles will leave San Francisco o­n October 21 to deliver much-needed supplies and people power. Help and monetary support is still needed!
